Through Generations

Sukhumvit Tailor is a family-owned and operated business, built upon generations of experience in Thailand’s clothing industry. Now in its third generation, our legacy extends beyond tailoring. It began with textiles, supplying fine fabrics to tailor shops across the country.

In the 1960s, our family expanded beyond Bangkok, venturing into the custom tailoring industry and opening establishments in Nakhon Phanom and in Takhli in Nakhon Sawan, near the American military bases. Having already been involved in the textile trade, we saw this opportunity to provide high-quality custom clothing directly to military personnel stationed in Thailand. This is the root of our custom tailoring expertise.

With the eventual withdrawal of American troops from Thailand, our stores in Nakhon Phanom and Nakhon Sawan have long closed, but we continued to offer premium tailoring services to our clients. We opened storefronts around Bangkok and Pattaya in the ’70s and ’80s. These shops served visitors from around the world who sought the expertise of tailors who understood the importance of the finer details, and with the capability to tailor truly spectacular garments.

Through changing times and shifting fashion trends, our family remained steadfast in its pursuit of custom tailoring excellence. Tailoring is more than a business for us – it is an art form, a discipline, and above all, a labour of love. We believe that every custom garment tells a story, expressing the individuality of its wearer in the process. From the careful selection of fabrics to the process of measuring, cutting, and finishing each garment, our approach to tailoring is rooted in appreciation for elegance and style.

Today

Sukhumvit Tailor exists today as a continuation of this legacy – a rebirth of our heritage in a new form. While our boutique may now be intimate, the experience we offer is personal and refined, catering to those who appreciate true craftsmanship. Our clients do not just receive a well-made suit or dress – they experience the culmination of decades of knowledge, skill, and a genuine love for tailoring and self-expression through clothing.
